A girl accidentally fell and died in an open warehouse construction site in Meycuayan, Bulacan.
Aiza Castro, 5 years old, residing in an apartment within Anzures Compound in Gulod, Camalig, Meycauyan, Bulacan was declared dead on arrival (DOA) in the hospital after drowning for about 15 minutes around 8am today in an open warehouse site being constructed near their place of current residence.
Witnesses shared that Aiza’s sister and another kid tried to save her but failed.
The site, where the five year old girl drowned, was just a few steps away from Castro’s residence–a warehouse currently being constructed. The construction workers dug various “holes” within the site which were then filled with water from accumulated rain showers. The pits, which looked like ‘mini-rivers’ now, are approximately eight feet deep.
Residents within the area claimed that the open pits are really dangerous even without water yet since there were sharp steel and metal objects being stocked there and that fences should have been built first before the construction had begun.
